*“75% would run with colleagues, but only 3% did”

Results of numerous studies conclude that peer influence positively affects exercise habits. As most of us spend the majority of our day at work, more needs to be done in the workplace to inspire each other to participate in regular physical activity and generally lead healthier lifestyles.

Results from a survey conducted by aat-events in May 2019, 75% agreed that they would / consider running with colleagues, but only 3% actually took part in the event with colleagues.  Distressingly, many reported that they “are not encouraged to engage in physical activity by their workplace”.
(sample size = 500)

According to Mercer:British employers are losing on average 27.5 days of productive time per employee each year as staff take time off sick and underperform in the office as a result of ill-health (presenteeism). This is equivalent to each worker losing more than an entire working month of productive time annually. When translated into monetary terms, the combination of this absence and presenteeism is costing the UK economy £73 billion a year in lost productivity.”

I want my organisation to take part

1. Request an invoice (minimum of 3 places)

2. Team members enter themselves

We will invoice the organisation for a minimum of 3 places – detailing the reclaimable VAT – and then issue 100% discount codes for you to share with your team. Team members register themselves using your code and will not be asked to enter details at checkout. Anyone (the first person to enter) creates the team, the others then join it.

Businesses of all shapes and sizes are invited to enter a team of 3 (employees, contractors, competitors etc) in either race to encourage employees to lead healthier lifestyles across a prolonged period of time –  as they train for and complete a running race. Even self-employed workers are encouraged to take part;  individuals working in co-share office spaces like Collaborate in Woking have banded together to create teams, so there really is no excuse! Invite other businesses, suppliers, or market competitors to take part in this healthy competition, or use this opportunity to raise money for your chosen charity. The team who crosses the finish line in the lowest combined time are declared the winners and receive a trophy to keep.

Company Fundraising

Encouraging your employees to take part and fundraise is also a great opportunity to generate positive PR. For your employees, participation can improve their well-being and increase productivity – all while raising money for an amazing charity!

We’ve teamed up with The GivenGain Foundation to help raise as much money as possible for charity through our event.

✓ It’s quick and FREE to set up, with all proceeds being donated your chosen charity.

✓ Unlike other fundraising sites, GivenGain creates your corporate fundraising profile linked to the Mercer Surrey Half Marathon 2020 event.

They design and create content so you can invite your staff to create personal fundraising projects.

Your staff can then share their fundraising project with their networks and ask for donations.

Companies get an all-in-one view of all employee fundraising. This allows you to measure success, see what countries donated and get real-time feedback to report to stakeholders and the public.
