We love spectators! To say thanks for their amazing support, we’ve arranged plenty of things to do for all of our spectators at the Mercer Surrey Half Marathon –  including video streaming on a 13m² LED Screen, dance performances, live music, “pubs en route” and more!

So where is the “best place” to watch the race? There are loads of great places where you can meet your runner en route – many have great facilities too. Multiple “cheer stations” and “music stations” are positioned out on the 13.1 mile course. Confetti, cow bells, horns, signs and any other “motivational paraphernalia” is all welcome at our event to help keep our runners running and our cheerleaders cheering!
In addition, a number of pubs positioned along the route offer fantastic deals for the day on special “breakfast BBQs”, beers and more! A number of businesses and restaurants in Woking Town Centre will also offer special “race day deals”, so plan ahead and make a day of it.

You could also consider volunteering. Mercer Surrey Half Marathon Volunteers are are rewarded with a free race place for themselves or a friend in the following year, and best of all there is no selection process – simply sign up and turn up! We recruit over 250 local volunteers to hand out medals, cheer runners across the line, assist with bag storage and more. With a variety of other roles available, it’s a truly memorable day for all involved. Head to our volunteering page  for more information.
